First BioBlitz Survey

Four Panamanians and one retired American conducted the first Blogger BioBlitz of Panama survey this week. The results are entirely in Spanish, so I am merely posting a summary in English at this point.

We sampled a wooded area at an elevation of 1137 m, covering an area of about 20 m by 20 m. (Click on the image for a larger view.)

We compiled a checklist of 18 plants, 9 insects, 11 birds, and 6 reptiles.

The participants were a high school biology teacher, her husband (who works for the Autoridad Nacional del Ambiente – the National Authority of the Environment), their two children, and me.

Details and other survey results will follow.
